| Tamari are a large deer
like species commonly used beast of burden in temperate forested
and high-land areas like Terbin and Quellet. They are generally
over 16 hands high when mature with one buck being recorded as
attaining a huge 20 hands.
Combat:
A Tamari is more likely to flee than face conflict but if cornered
or with young unable to flee they kick , bite and often attempt
to charge, using their sheer bulk to knock down agressors, often
trampling them in the process.
Tamari have a exceptional sense of smell and hearing, though their
eyesight is limited, which gives them +2 to surprise checks.
Habitat/Society:
Herd and generally plains dwelling species. Wild herd numbers
vary from about twelve with one dominant male, to over three hundred
individuals. Migration routes often have groups of multiple herds
that graze and travel together then later disperse as food become
scarce.
Ecology:
Tamari are one of the bulk grazers of Torren. They can consume relatively
large amounts of poor quality feed without ill-effect making them
economical for farmers as beasts of burden.
