It's also a fishhook for future plots and is a link to something in Gips past and future ^_^

All I can really tell you is it's going to be a while before I get to this bit in the story but I am also REALLY itching to get there too because I only learn the details of what is happening as I draw it. This gentleman is the one Gip speaks to in her dreams after being knocked unconcious by the rain of snails.
